Vice Chairman

Lydia Jabs serves as Vice Chairman of the U.S.-Libya Business Association (USLBA), where she previously held the role of Executive Director for nearly ten years. In this capacity, she has been a leading force in strengthening U.S.–Libya commercial ties, advancing private-sector engagement, and supporting strategic partnerships that promote economic growth and sustainable development.
She currently serves at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as Executive Director of the U.S.-Saudi Business Program, the U.S.-Bahrain Business Council, and the U.S.-Kuwait Business Council, where she leads high-level engagement between American companies and key regional markets across the Gulf.
Her work has consistently centered on deepening economic ties between the U.S. and the Middle East and North Africa through a combination of policy expertise, private-sector strategy, and on-the-ground relationship building. In 2023, Lydia was honored with the “40 Under 40” award by the Middle East Policy Council, and in 2024, she was selected for the Cambridge Middle East and North Africa Forum’s Young Leaders Initiative.
Lydia holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from Dartmouth College, during which she lived and conducted research in Rabat, Morocco, and Tunis, Tunisia. Her career reflects a commitment to fostering economic growth and sustainable development in the Middle East through diplomacy, innovation, and commercial leadership. Lydia currently resides in Washington, D.C., with her husband and French Bulldog.
