USLBA and GECOL discussed plan to reform the electricity sector in Libya

July 24, 2017
USLBA and member companies joined USAID for a meeting with top representatives from the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) today. GECOL is the state-owned vertically structured power utility responsible for generation, transmission and distribution of electric power throughout Libya.  GECOL presented their Roadmap for short, medium, and long-term reforms of the electricity sector in Libya, prepared with technical assistance from USAID.
On July 25th, USLBA hosted a follow up discussion on how GECOL can speak directly to the US business community and the potential for a workshop or conference in the USA about American business involvement with GECOL in its plan to reform the electricity sector in Libya.
